The visibility of data products to a user is determined by:

  • The visibility of the data product set by the data product owner during the publish process
Where there is no visibility set for a given user, the data product will be undiscoverable. There are some exceptional cases for some admin views of data products where a data product will present as “Hidden” for example, when the administrator or consumer is not enabled to view a contributing data product.

  • The data product visibility applies within the constraints of org type settings. Where orgs are unable to interact with one another, no published data products will be visible to either org, regardless of visibility set.

  • Where a user has acquired a data product subscription (usually via a managed subscription allocation), visibility is overridden and the subscribed user is able to see the data product to which they’re subscribed.
